Savitri Girls’ College

Following the bi-centenary of Raja Rammohan Roy, on September 14, 1972, Savitri Girls College was established with the noble mission of imparting female education. Department of History was introduced from the very beginning of the Institution in the Stream of Arts At the beginning Department of History offered only General course. Later in 1996, the permission to open Honours course in History was sought for from C.U. and Honours in History opened from 1996-97 academic session. With the gradual development of the college, the Department of History also developed with facilities offered to the students such as Central library, Seminar library. Educational tour. Students were guided by teachers in Campus Publication such as Wall Magazine and Departmental Magazine.
