Savtri Girls’ College

The clubs, cells and committees which directly interact with students all the year are- Under the supervision of the respective members, Teachers-in-charge and guidance of the Principal:
1. Medical cell
  • Arranges programs for preventive and promotive care of students
  • Addressing issues like ill-health and stress of students
  • Controlling incidents of Dengue and Malaria
2. Anti Ragging Committee
  • Ensures friendly and welcoming seniors
  • Promotes healthy interaction with seniors
  • Interacting with seniors helps in academic support in the form of study groups, where students can readily help each other out.
3. Career Counseling Cell Career counselling cell runs year-round to match students with entrepreneurs and organisations which do the type of work students would be interested in works in close contact with the Alumni Cell looking for hands-on based knowledge that gives students the extra edge with job placement. 4. Grievance Cell, Internal Complaint Committee
  • Creating a platform where students can lodge their grievances for quick redress
  • Feedback forms given to students as regards classes, facilities etc.
  • Boxes created for anonymous suggestions, students are allowed to write in English, Hindi and Bengali
5. Students’ Welfare Committee
  • An interface between college administration and students
  • Facilitate conditions that promote academic success, personal well-being and development of students
  • Exploring available forms of financial aid, concessions, scholarships etc.
6. Magazine and Publication Committee A literary face of the College
  • College Magazine :
''Patrika" is published Annually along with regular Wall Magazines, News Bulletin and Journals. The College recently has published two books, "The life and works of Sarala Devi: A Brief Overview" and "Vidyasagar: the Humanist with a difference."A third book on Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay is in the offing.
  • Cultural and Drama Committee:
Multitude of cultural activities around the year. Basanta Utsab and Rabindra Jayanti were celebrated with great elan by the students.
  • Sports Committee:
  1. Channelizing energy of the young girls into the positive healthy outlet of Sports
  2. To building resilience in students, College has an indoor gym and indoor games facilities too
  3.   Relentless, fast-moving alert activities directed towards physical improvement and social betterment of the student
  • Debate Club:
  1. Knowledge has to begin by challenging the givens, by questioning and overturning existing ways of thinking and doing. Challenging begins with Debate which encourages logical faculty.
  2. Prepare students to participate in contemporary dialogue on topics related to social processes and prejudices and also global issues.
  3. Primarily acquaint students with world views, intellectual traditions, historical narratives and social Institutions that have developed in and outside India.
  4. Simultaneously developing acceptance and tolerance that there are other cultures beyond one’s social and geopolitical orbit.
  • Nature Club:
  1. Raising general awareness regarding environmental issues from a global perspective
  2. Inculcate a love and respect for nature in students and teachers
  3. Organizing eco-friendly activities
  4. Learning to conserve resources
  • College Social and Excursion Committee:
  1. Taking learning beyond the classroom
  2. Hands on preparation for the real world—excursion and study tour
  3. Steeped in real-life problem solving
